Ho ho ho: A winter-themed anthology in time for the holidays. This is a great gift, a great read, and even better: all proceeds go to charity.

Spec The Halls spans the winter holidays – both real and fictional – from a speculative fiction point of view, set here and beyond, and always from a different point of view.

My fantasy short story, “Seven White Wolves,” is included, so I hope you’ll check it out. I set my tale in early Medieval Germany on the eve of Mōdranicht and twisted a beloved Grimm brother’s story. “Seven White Wolves” tells the tale of the sister who, unlike her brothers, escapes the fate of being turned into a wolf. To save them, she takes an oath and vows to do the impossible. Now, after seven long years of silence, weaving the wolfsbane shirts that will break their curse, she finds herself framed for the murder of her baby. Mute to save herself, she will burn in the bonfire at the feast to celebrate Mōdranicht, on the eve of winter solstice. She only hopes her shirts won’t go up in flames too.

And that’s only one story of many. This year’s anthology also includes stories by Kelly Swails, Alethea Kontis, T. Lee Harris, Laura Resnick, Steven Saus, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Kerrie Hughes, Marian Allen, Patrick M. Tracy, Risa Wolf, Jess Hartley, Graham Storrs, Donald J. Bingle, R.T. Kaelin, and Sue Penkivech.

This ebook is available for a limited time only. All the proceeds will go to Heifer International.

I hope you enjoy these delightfully odd stories. With a cup of cocoa and a blazing fireplace, this read is sure to take the edge off winter’s chill.

Update: Spec the Halls is no longer available.
